Contract + token IDThese two pieces prove which collection and which item you have. Always copy the contract from the official site or verified marketplace page.

Metadata locationOn-chain and IPFS are more durable; plain HTTPS links can change. Check the metadata URL and image link on the explorer.

ApprovalsListing often requires approvals. Broad approvals let a contract move all items in that collection. Read the spender and revoke when you’re done.

Airdrops and mintsNever connect to surprise links. If you didn’t seek it out, ignore it or view the token only on a trusted explorer—no signing.

Key points
  • Provenance:Verify the contract address and minting wallet.
  • Storage:On-chain/IPFS is sturdier than a random web server.
  • Approvals:Needed to list; risky if broad or forgotten.
  • Airdrops:View on explorer; do not sign random “claim” prompts.
