Use MetaMask (or Rabby/Coinbase Wallet) but stay on testnet or read-only mode for safety. We’re practicing checks, not buying.

Steps
  1. From an official site:Or verified marketplace page, copy the contract address of a known collection. Paste it into the explorer and confirm name, supply, and creator.
  2. Open a specific token:ID on the explorer. Find the metadata URL and image URL; note whether it uses IPFS, on-chain data, or a plain web link.
  3. Compare the explorer view:To the marketplace page. Do the traits and image match? If not, the marketplace link may be fake.
  4. Visit an approvals tool:(e.g., revoke.cash) on testnet. Review any NFT approvals; revoke ones you don’t need. Read the spender name before confirming.
  5. Optional safety drill:Open a random “free mint” link you do NOT trust in a separate profile. Stop when it asks you to connect or sign. List the red flags you saw.
