Do this slowly and say the checks out loud: “First/last 4 match, amount is tiny, fee looks normal, on testnet, open explorer.” If anything doesn’t match, cancel and fix it. This is the exact habit that prevents costly mistakes on mainnet. All steps use MetaMask.
Steps
- Install MetaMask from the:Official site (https //metamask.io/). Create a wallet, write the seed on paper, and in Settings → Advanced enable “Show test networks.” Switch the network to Sepolia.
- Copy the recipient address;:In MetaMask’s Send flow, paste it and double-check the first/last 6 characters match what you copied. (In Rabby or Coinbase Wallet, do the same paste, then verify the start/end of the address.)
- Enter 0.01 testnet ETH:As the amount. Leave gas/fees on the suggested setting to see a normal cost.
- Review the MetaMask confirmation:Screen From, To, Amount, Gas fee. If anything looks off, reject. If correct, click Confirm.
- In the activity list,:Click the transaction and then “View on block explorer.” On the explorer, note the hash, From, To, Value, Fee, and Nonce.
- Refresh after 2–3 blocks:To watch Confirmations increase and Status switch to success.
- Compare explorer data with:The MetaMask activity details. If they differ, trust the explorer and investigate.
