Smart Contracts & Programmable Trust — Part 2
by D47K.com
#part2 – Code, Oracles & The Edge of Reality
Blockchains are good at internal truth. They can verify transactions within their own network — who owns what, who sent what, when.
But they don’t know anything about the outside world.
That’s where oracles come in.
Oracles act as bridges, feeding real-world data — like prices, weather, or sensor readings — into blockchain systems. They’re the whisperers between machines and reality.
Without them, a smart contract can’t respond to what happens beyond its own walls. With them, we risk reintroducing trust: who verifies the oracle?
It’s the oldest paradox in technology — every new trustless system eventually creates new places to hide trust.
