Official downloadBookmark the real site or store page and use it every time. Typos or ads can lead to clones that exist only to steal seeds.
Seed backupThose 12–24 words are the master key. Write them on paper in private. Do not take photos. When you restore, compare the first and last 4 characters of your address to be sure you restored the right wallet.
Mainnet vs testnetMainnet is real value; Sepolia is for practice. The chain ID (Sepolia = 11155111) and the “Testnet” label in your wallet help you avoid sending real funds by accident.
FaucetsLegit faucets are free and never ask for real ETH. If a “faucet” wants payment, close the tab—it’s not real.
Explorer verificationA block explorer is a public window into the chain. It shows balances and transactions even if your wallet UI lags or fails. Use it as your independent receipt—regardless of which wallet you choose.
- Official source:Bookmark the correct wallet site/app to avoid fakes.
- Seed backup:Offline, private, confirmed by matching the address after restore.
- Testnet safety:Sepolia chain ID 11155111; never pay for testnet ETH.
- Explorer:Independent balance/tx truth if the wallet UI is wrong.
